Thomas Propp

Yoga Teacher BDY/EYU

Grew up in Berlin, teacher training in Giessen, father of four.

1st Dan Aikido, health practitioner, training in Shiatsu and Hara Awareness Massage

Initial Hatha yoga teacher training in India followed by four years with Ananda Leone at the Yoga Academy Berlin, recognised by the BDY (Federal Association of German Yoga Teachers). Further training with Ana Forrest, Brian Kest, Daniel Orlansky and Thomas Bannenberg. Founder of Aikiyoga for children and adolescents

Teaching yoga full-time since 2003 at their own studio, „yogalila“, in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.

My philosophy in yoga: You are perfect just as you are. Yoga connects you with what is. The body should be receptive to perception, the breath free, the heart wide. For this we do asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breath control) and meditation (attempts to find one's centre).
Yoga with me should be fun. If there is a goal, it's a free mind in a strong body.

After finishing my A-levels and spending time abroad, I began studying Indology, but soon switched to the more hands-on training to become a physiotherapist, which I completed in 2000.
This was followed by the four-year BDY/EYU yoga teacher training at the Academy for Yoga with Ananda and Urvasi Leone, graduating in 2005. This was followed by courses in Shiatsu with Jochen Knau and Edith Storch, and in 2010 I passed the examination to become a alternative practitioner. In 2020 and 2021 I completed my training as an APM therapist with Michael Uhrhan.
Yoga has always grounded me well and carried me through all highs and lows.
Back in 2002, I had already discovered children's yoga with Petra Proßowsky with great enthusiasm. We now work closely together and, following many years of experience in day nurseries, schools and in my own groups, I am a tutor for the State Sports Association, the Berlin Gymnastics and Leisure Sports Association (BTFB), the Diakademie, the German Red Cross (DRK) and the LPM Saarbrücken.
I am deeply passionate about supporting pregnant women and mothers through yoga, drawing on my wealth of experience as a mother of three.
My yoga journey was inspired by advanced training with Patrick Broome, Daniel Orlansky and many others.
Yoga is for me a never-ending journey from the mat into everyday life. Yoga makes my life richer and more colourful.

Yoga is abundance! Pleasure! Joy!

In my classes you will experience the special quality of Asanasin the combination of tension and relaxation.
Body and mind are equally engaged and brought into balance. Powerful, stabilising Asanas alternate with dynamically intuitive elements from the VinyasaYoga.
Precise alignments are just as important as the space for one's own experiences.
Breathing exercises (pranayama) deepen your experience of Asana-practice and prepare you for the phase of relaxation and meditation at the end of the class.

I was a student of Thomas Propp at Yogalila for many years before beginning my 4-year sivasakti- Yoga teacher training with Ananda Leone at the Yoga Academy Berlin began.
Now I am a yoga teacher myself and teach with great joy and enthusiasm! I consider it a great gift to be able to pass on the knowledge of the yoga tradition while at the same time being able to incorporate my own experiences.

For me, yoga is healing in motion – on all levels!
In my yoga classes, I pay particular attention to the deep connection with the breath. My varied sessions are a mix of meditative, relaxing and activating, dynamic elements. It is always important not to take oneself too seriously and to continually bring lightness and joy into the practice.
With yoga we create a space in which we can hold our own energy and connect with the life force and our inner child. We arrive entirely in the present moment whilst balancing and harmonising our feminine and masculine energy. This brings us relaxation, an open mind and a higher state of consciousness.

During my yoga journey, I have practised various yoga styles, including Yin, Yang, Ashtanga, and Acro Yoga. My most extensive practice is in Hatha, Kundalini, and Tantra Yoga. I completed my yoga teacher training in Kaula Tantra Yoga, shamanism, and art at Durga’s Tiger School in Ecuador. My classes are always an intuitive flow of asanas drawn from the entire spectrum of my experiences.
I love sharing the magic of yoga with as many people as possible and bringing healing into the world. Yoga has changed my life for the better and I see great value in sharing this gift.

„Day in, day out, we swim in the stream of life, and as it goes, most of the time we do not listen to the whispered longings of our own heart.“ Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn

In my classes I give you the space for a date with yourself. I allow you to arrive in peace, combine flowing and holding elements from yoga and Qigong, introduce impulses of tension and relaxation, familiarise you with polarities, let images and thoughts flow in that connect with your experiences, and in this way you learn to perceive, explore and develop the movements of your body, your breath and your mind.

This leads to a tangible reduction in stress, as well as greater clarity, joy and self-efficacy in your life. If you are curious about how yoga can be integrated into your everyday life beyond the mat in a practical way, you are very welcome to drop by my classes.

I am a certified yoga teacher BDY/EYU, a member of the Professional Association of Yoga Teachers in Germany (BDYoga), completed my four-year training with Ananda Leone at the Yoga Academy Berlin, and regularly participate in continuing professional development.

I teach with a lot of heart and joy. Yoga is possible for everyone.

Carla Morera

„Hi, I'm Carla!

I come from Barcelona and am a contemporary dancer, yoga teacher (RYS 540h, in training), Thai massage therapist, and Happy Panda mindfulness trainer for children – with many years of experience in the educational sector.

Movement is my passion – because for me it is a source of freedom and happiness. Exactly this feeling is what I want to pass on in my classes.

Learning through movement begins in the first months of life and never ends – not even in old age. This continuity inspires me to keep developing.

My daily Iyengar yoga practice began in 2012 during my dance training and became the foundation of my inner and outer development. For me, yoga is more than a practice – it is a transformative journey towards clarity, strength and presence.

In my classes, precise alignment, mindfulness and individual modification are the focus. Every movement becomes a conscious invitation to explore your own body and grow from within.

It is a pleasure to accompany people along this path.“

While travelling, I came to know and love mantra singing and playing the harmonium. For about 10 years now, I have been leading my own kirtan groups, where it has always been important to me that different musicians and various instruments come together. Our singing events are not about perfection in any way, nor do you need to have a great voice – it is about getting in touch with your feelings, opening your heart, feeling connected to the group and vibrating together. CHANT & BE HAPPY is our motto. I am also always delighted to welcome new musicians, who should be given a space to try themselves out in front of a larger group. Mantra singing / kirtan is energy work – and I am always overjoyed when, after the chanting, everyone is in a very peaceful and harmonious state.

I also regularly offer introductory harmonium courses, and I have playfully taught many people how to play the harmonium.

It is very important to me that everyone who comes to the mantra singing always feels welcomed by the group very quickly, even if they are „new“. In this way, I continually bring people together through mantra singing, which is something very close to my heart.

The best way to find out what mantra singing/Kirtan is is through your own experience. Perhaps it is also something for you that will enormously enrich your life! Just give it a go! That's also how we are a small community!

Perceiving the stillness within the movement. Feeling the movement within the stillness. Taking time to feel what needs to be felt. – For me, that is the most wonderful thing about Qigong.

In my Qigong classes, I open up a space where right and wrong do not matter. There is nothing to achieve here. It is solely about arriving in the moment and enjoying it. To achieve this, we slow down the pace, connect breath, movement and attention, and trust in the power of these millennia-old exercises. Relaxation happens all by itself. And the positive effects on the energy system and the body's health are plain to see.

I have been teaching Qigong for around five years. The focus is on the exercises for the essence of Qigong as taught by the International Qigong Association (IQGV). This simple, natural and effective practice is suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners alike; it can be started immediately without any prior knowledge or special skills. In addition, there are elements from Fan Teng Gong, Shaolin Neijin Yizhichan Qigong, Anthony Wee's Chi Dynamics and a few more.

Give it a go!
